The following are projects linked to the Wey valley Rural Art Project:

Proposal.

Key aims

Objectives

To continue to raise awareness of the importance of recycling, valuing the our towns and countryside through clearing up our waste.

  • For Artists

To create new work in response to the importance of recycling/and or using recycled materials.

  • For Schools/Day Centres

For the selected artists to work in partnership with schools or day centres, to run workshops and create work in response to recycling.

  • For the community

The project could be Guildford Borough based only with an exhibition to be held at Guildford House Gallery.

If the project developed to County event, the proposal would be to work in partnership with other Surrey Districts/Boroughs, with the possibility of a touring exhibition to the Arc in Caterham, Cranleigh Arts Centre and The Lightbox in Woking.

To offer the public the opportunity to response to the created artists work and the exhibition through a website link and visitors book/survey.

The exhibition will feature

  • Artists working with recycled materials
  • A school room (competition winners from local schools and colleges
  • Community projects
  • Industrial design
  • Home wares (displayed as a room setting and interactive)
  • An innovative and fun method of collecting recyclables
